  Wow! Just a terrific place to buy an instrument. I've seen their online listings on Reverb for quite some time. I'd never seen the store. OMG what a shop! Absolutely terrific selection of used and vintage gear. I had spotted a Collings City Limits online. I wanted to try it out before buying. I've got nice guitars already so buying a so-so guitar isn't in the cards for me. After trying it, was offered a terrific deal on it. As I was checking out, Heath, the sales guy, said he was going to put new strings on it for me. Asked me what kind and if the action was OK. I gave him my preference and asked him to set it up a little higher. I went to lunch with my wife and when I got back, all was beautiful. Picked it up and went home. Later that night, I'm all pumped up for a first session with the guitar. I take it out of the case, tune it up...the D string slips, I tune again, it slips more until it goes limp. I thought maybe it had broken. Nope. The tuner would not tighten the string. Next day, I called Heath. He consulted the tech in back. We arranged that I would bring the guitar back and they'd have a look. Well, I got all new metal knobs for my Sprerzel tuners and the white plastic ones, one had worn out, enclosed in the case. The knobs they picked look terrific and I know these metal ones will never cause any problems. NO CHARGE. They thanked me again for shopping there. Their guitar tech is a 30 year veteran of guitar repair and worked for the only Collings dealer in the Midwest at one time. He knows these things. I'm still dreaming about the hot-rodded vintage Fender amp I saw there. I'm saving up. Stellar experience from a terrific store. This place on Damen is less than 2 years old. It's got a vintage vibe and lots of vintage gear but it's organized and there is obviously some pride of place. Love it and will be back.
