  My 8 -year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Chen for one year. In that year, she has participated in 2 recitals and in her first piano competition, where she won 1st place. I know this is in large part due to Ms. Chen’s teaching method. She is extremely patient and very detail-oriented. She offers praise, but also gentle correction, as needed. Ms. Chen does not tell my daughter what to play. Rather, she teaches her how to play and ensures she has a complete understanding of music, including theory, technique, and music appreciation. Ms. Chen has a talent for conveying new concepts in a way that my daughter can easily understand and apply. Most importantly, my daughter thoroughly enjoys her piano lessons. I highly recommend Ms. Chen!
