  In a strip mall next to a McDonalds, one should expect a drive-through tax return. That's what we got. We filed our taxes here (stupidly? well yes, but due to laziness and lateness) in 2013. The tax 'professional' who helped us, Sayeed, made a large mistake by not including one source of income that was clearly shown on a 1099. The feds noticed this in 2015, notified us with a penalty and fee that HR block paid for (as it was absolutely their calculating error) -- to their credit, admitting the error. We of course paid the difference.
  But the very same issue affects the state return! Should we have had the foresight to correct this at the same time? Maybe. But as tax people, they absolutely should have advised us of this. They didn't. The state comes back in 2017 for the SAME error -- more interest, penalties, and of course balance due. HR rejected the claim, didn't pay for their error.
