  The Hatch is in a super-cool space in a historic building on the near south side of Chicago. (Which I love - what can I say, I love my city's history :) Found this place - word-of-mouth - at the perfect time when I needed to finish my second album. You know how it is when you’re recording and mixing your baby – you want to be able to ask questions and trust you’re getting good advice. You also need to communicate your vision and know your engineer is listening. Michael was nothing but supportive and constructive in the process, was adaptive to the files and formats I already had, and really did a great job "hearing" what I needed and making me feel comfortable every step of the way. What's more, he has an amazing (but not overbearing) ear for production and his rates are super-reasonable. I’m proud of the work he did on my new CD, "Powder Kegs Beneath Dagger Trees," and can’t wait to get started on my next one with him later this year. Thanks again, Mike! - Trakan
