  I could understand if it was a crowd of people in here... this is actually the first time ive been here when there wasnt a line..but there is only a handful full. I am waiting for the cashier and she is having personal conversation.. and when she did finally call me...still continuing with personal conversation

  Don’t go there if you want to get a first time driver’s license. Lady at the counter asked me what I need done and I told her a DL, she took my papers and said they will give me a permit. I explained that I don’t want a permit I want a license and she said step over here and they will help you. After taking my picture and waiting for 40 minutes until my turn came, the lady at the desk said they are not a full service facility and they don’t do a driving test, just the written test and the vision and hey, what did O expect? This is downtown! As if that explains everything and I should have figured it out myself.

  I’ve been to DMVs in New Jersey, Florida and New York City before. They were all nightmarish pits of surly unhappy people. Yesterday, I had to go to the Chicago DMV to trade in my Out-of-state license for an Illinois one. This was absolutely the most efficient, well-run, friendliest DMV I have ever visited. I cannot sing their praises more highly. From the time I left my apartment to the time I walked out of the DMV with my new license, 72 minutes had elapsed - this included a 1+ mile walk in between the two and taking the written exam. The staff was friendly and nice. The offices were clean - if a little hidden away in a corner. Keep up the great work!!
