  I was assigned an agent who put tons of pressure on me to apply for an apartment on the spot and acted like I was wasting his time (and also was late to my appointment). We were locked out of two of the apartments, which wasted MY time. He also only showed me apartments that were at the very top of/over my budget after I said that amount was the absolute highest I'd be willing to pay. Don't think that these people want to help you--they are salespeople and just want your commission, which I understand, but am not okay with when the salesperson is a jerk. Don't use them unless you're absolutely desperate for housing and know EXACTLY what you want. If you do use them, give them a lower number than you're actually willing to pay because they'll show you places that are over your budget.
