  I chose this bank when I moved to Chicago because I didn't want to do business with a large investment bank. Chicago Community Bank is conveniently located in the loop, and their staff is friendly and competent. My only complaint is that in trying to offer great service, they end up just hassling me. Whenever I want to manage my account over the phone (add money to my checking, or just check the balance of my accounts), I am forced to waste at least 5 minutes while they try to convince me to just use the website to do this because it is "easier". I now find myself dreading to call them because they insist on keeping me on the phone for so long trying to convince me to just use the website. Whenever I run in for some quick cash and I don't have my checkbook on me (because I use debit, I leave the checkbooks at home), they lecture me about how I could save a dollar if I carried my check book with me. Or I could just use the ATM outside, they say. But since I've had issues with that machine in the past, I'd rather just go inside and have everything work out. I'd gladly pay $2 if they'd just leave me alone and give me the damn cash. And finally, the bank manager is a very polite, helpful man. But I don't want him to act like a parent. I don't want to be forced to defend my large checking account balance every time I see him. He always wants me to keep less and less in checking because its "safer". And perhaps I would, if I felt more comfortable calling them to put extra funds into my checking. Overall, a five star bank knocked down to three because the service is at times overwhelming and intrusive.
