  I've been twice and came away with very good haircuts both times. Bertha is very friendly. She is more an artist than a scientist when it comes to cutting hair. The buzz clippers don't always have a clip and don't always touch your head. She'll occasionally pull a patch of hair on your head with her fingers and snip it off. She also uses a lint roller rather than a brush to remove hair clippings (and it's actually much better than a brush).
  
  I reserved judgment after my first haircut in case she just got lucky with my head, but she's done a great job twice. Best haircut for your buck in the area for sure. She's currently cash only.

  Bertha's is about as good as it gets for haircuts in the city. The price is great, the cut is great, and Bertha is about as nice of a person as you'll ever meet. I can usually call in the morning and get a reservation later that day, and she's even stayed late just to squeeze in an appointment for me. It's rare that I ever give a 5-star rating, but I'm happy to give that for Bertha.
