  This small, derelict and ignored patch of unusable space, hidden under passing noisy trains and running along a very busy access road, serves no purpose other than to camouflage a deliberately placed speed trap camera for unsuspecting motorist. Five miles over the speed limit along this barren piece of empty road generates speeding tickets at $100 a pop for the city. Absolutely no one uses this lonely patch of grass, and few even know it's there —until they suddenly get a speeding ticket in the mail. There is no foot traffic because there simply is no where for anyone to go. It's really a shame to be called a "park" and it's an unfair tax on Jefferson Park/Portage park home owning families or anyone who travels Cicero before taking the Kennedy to work in the city. If you're considering buying a place near that area, you should expect to pay several hundred dollars more a year in taxes than most this way. Unfortunately,it seems that's just the cost of driving past one of the city's beautiful "parks" on your way to work.
